KARIR EYEWEAR

“Great glasses, where did you get them?”

The answer I invariably give is Karir. Their selection has always been ahead of the curve; their service is as good as it gets!

The boutique’s owner, Bob Karir says his love of fashion, entrepreneurial spirit and interest in eyewear (he began as a lens grinder in a factory) spans well over 35 years! His business savvy evolved from the first samples of Ralph Lauren he brought from New York for the first location, to sourcing high-end, high-fashion eyewear 2 or 3 times a year from the shows in New York, Milan and Paris for his three Toronto stores.

He has an uncanny eye for the unique and fashion-forward! He was first to introduce the city to Jean Paul Gaultier, Alain Mikli, and Matsuda. The boutique now carries a range from Oliver Peoples, Theo, and Anne et Valentin to Leisure Society. Non-prescription sunglasses range from Chrome Hearts, Yohji Yamamotto, Kuboraum and Jacques Marie Mage. Karir Eyewear also stocks a number of frames in novel and rare materials, including buffalo horn, 3D-printed titanium, and laminated wood.

To Bob Karir, a pair of glasses is a work of art.

Bob favours the Yorkville location for its unique design and loves “the intimacy of the neighborhood vibe.” His wonderful staff agrees and takes care of you like a friend.
